Ants control in the South Bay
Argentine, odorous house, and carpenter ant control across the South Bay.
What ants look like
Most South Bay ant problems are Argentine ants β tiny (about 1/8 inch), uniformly dark brown, and moving in long, well-defined trails. Odorous house ants look similar but give off a coconut-like smell when crushed, while carpenter ants are much larger (up to 1/2 inch) and can damage wood.
Signs of an infestation
- βSteady trails of ants along baseboards, counters, or exterior walls
- βClusters around sinks, dishwashers, and pet bowls (they're seeking water)
- βAnt activity that reappears within days of spraying the ones you see
- βFor carpenter ants: small piles of sawdust-like frass near wood
How we treat ants
Effective ant control targets the colony, not the ants on your counter. We identify the trails and nesting sites, apply non-repellent products and baits that ants carry back to the colony, and treat exterior entry points and harborage. Because coastal and irrigated South Bay yards constantly re-seed colonies, recurring exterior service is the most reliable way to keep them out long-term.
Ants control FAQs
- How much does ant control cost?
- Ant control typically runs $150β$250 for the initial treatment, with optional recurring service around $40β$60 per month. Exact pricing depends on the size of your property and how established the colony is.
- Why do ants keep coming back after I spray them?
- Store-bought sprays kill the ants you see but don't reach the colony, and many repel ants so the colony simply splits and relocates. Lasting control uses non-repellent products and baits that foragers carry back to the nest, eliminating it at the source.
- Are ant treatments safe around pets and children?
- Yes. We use EPA-approved products applied as targeted trails, baits, and crack-and-crevice treatments rather than broad open-surface spraying. We'll note any short dry-time so you can keep pets and kids clear of a treated area until it's dry.
